Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and man of faith whose life was defined by quiet strength, humility, and love. He was married to the love of his life, Edith Lineberger, for more than 70 years. Though Edith passed two years before him, their bond never faded. He missed her deeply and carried her with him every day, always looking forward to the reunion he believed in with his whole heart.
Family and faith were the cornerstones of Bill’s life. He loved his church family just as deeply as his own, finding fellowship, purpose, and peace within that community. His faith was not loud or showy—it was lived daily through consistency, kindness, service, and showing up for others without needing recognition.
He is survived by his children Kitty Huffstetler (Arnold Huffstetler), Kim Smith (Bruce Smith), Bill Lineberger Jr. (Lisa Lineberger), and Johnny Lineberger. He was preceded in death by his daughter Jean Lineberger, who remained forever close to his heart. Bill was a proud grandfather to Billy Lineberger III (Kaila Lineberger), Brandon Lineberger (Bailey Lineberger), Jeremy Lineberger (Stephanie Martin), Matt Smith (Sheridan Smith), Cameron Smith, Chandler Smith (Kaitlyn Smith), Clint Norwood, Eric Norwood, Sam Greiner (Connie Greiner), Trevor Huffstetler (Lacy Huffstetler), and John Lineberger. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Deanna Greiner, who was dearly loved and never forgotten. He was also blessed by extended family who meant a great deal to him, including Janet Danner, Lisa’s mother, and Bill Huffstetler, Arnold’s father, both of whom are living and cherished.
Professionally, Bill was the founder of Victory Films, a lifelong work driven not by money or recognition, but by love for storytelling and service. Through his filmmaking—most notably recording and preserving moments connected to NASCAR history—Bill found joy in helping friends and family capture meaningful moments.
He never sought the spotlight; he simply did the work with care and pride, letting it speak for itself. Bill will be remembered for his steady presence, his deep faith, and the way he loved—faithfully, quietly, and without condition. He lived a full life, served others well, and leaves behind a legacy built not on noise, but on faithfulness.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at The Road Church, located at 13700 Lawyers Rd., Mint Hill, North Carolina.
