Bobby Ray Barrett

Born November 19, 1934 in Charlotte, NC, Mr. Barrett was the son of the late Perry Worth Barrett and Ina Bell Dawkins Barrett. He was a graduate of Tech High School in Charlotte and NC State University in Raleigh. He worked at Borden Chemical for 33 years, where he was honored as the Top National Sales Person. Bobby was the Vice-President of the United Methodist Men of Stallings United Methodist Church, where he was in charge of the devotions and programs.

Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Verta Wentz Barrett; sons, Gary Worth Barrett and wife, Janet Baucom Barrett, Eric Hugh Barrett and wife, Elizabeth Blottman Barrett; daughter, Cynthia Barrett Kieffer; grandchildren, Raigan Sease Teckmyer and husband, Steven Teckmyer, Taylor Nicole Sease, Joanna Barrett Sheyda and husband, David Sheyda, Nathanael Seth Barrett and wife, Lindsey Peele Barrett, Lindsey Diana Barrett, Laura Vivian Barrett, and Paige Elizabeth Barrett; and great-grandchildren, Gavin James Apple, Emersyn Taylor Teckmyer, Ridley Lynn Sheyda, and Addison Lee Barrett. Also surviving are his sister, Elaine Howard; and nieces, Leslie White and Robin Whisnant.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. Friday, October 9, at Stallings United Methodist Church, with a funeral service to immediately follow at 6:30. The Rev. Scott E. Ireland will officiate. Entombment will be private.
