Bobby Lee Stilwell

Bobby was born on August 1, 1929, in Mecklenburg County, NC, to Robert Lee and Nannie (McCraven) Stilwell. He retired from Harrison-Wright Company as a supervisor after 42 years.

He married Ann Stewart on May 6, 1950.

He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Mint Hill, NC. His world centered around his wife, Mr. Stilwell, age 81, of Stanfield, NC, and formerly of Mint Hill, NC, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mr. Stilwell loved his garden, dogs, and horses. He and his wife were parents to over 200 foster children for over 25 years in Mecklenburg County.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Ann Stilwell; his children: Donnie (Dolores) Stilwell, Harrisburg, NC; Becky Beaver Whitaker( Jerry), Salisbury, NC; Patricia (Dennis) Deal, Concord, NC; Kevin (Sharon) Stilwell, Lancaster, SC; Harry Lee (Cassandra) Stilwell, Charlotte; and Michelle Lipke, Stanfield, NC; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; his brother, Ervin Stilwell, Mint Hill; and his sister, Eva Dorton, Midland, NC; and many foster children.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 21, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 22nd, at the funeral chapel. Reverend Bill Saylor and Reverend Joe Mullis will officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, 6335 Wilson Grove Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227-4229 or to the Community Home Care and Hospice of Troy, NC, 120 N. Main Street, Troy, NC 27371.

He was preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings, and one grandson.
