Boyce Eugene Hough

Boyce Eugene Hough, 59, of Matthews, NC, died at home on Thursday, April 26, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Matthews on December 25, 1952, son of the late Raymond Lewis Hough and Ruth Mullis Hough.

Aside from his mother and father, Boyce was predeceased by his brothers, Johnny Lee Hough, William Fred Hough, Vernon Jurant Hough, and Joe Reid Hough, and his sister, Frances Hough Watson.

Boyce is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 30 years, Susan Jordan Hough; daughter, Jessica Jordan Hough and boyfriend, Erich Preisach, of Charlotte, and daughter, Jennifer Jean Hough of the home; sister, Linda Hough Haynes of Belmont, NC; and brother, Milton Lewis Hough and wife, Polly, of Sharon, SC. Boyce is also survived by several special in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of very special friends and neighbors.

After the death of his brother Johnny, Boyce became the sole owner and operator of Hough’s Garage in Matthews for the last 25 years. He was well known, loved, and respected by many people in the community, and will be greatly missed.

A celebration of Boyce’s life will be held Saturday, May 5, 2012, McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel at 2:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. The Reverend Bob Arnold of Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church is officiating.

The family would like to thank everyone for all the love and prayers sent during Boyce’s illness. Special thanks to Dr. Carter and the staff of Charlotte Community Health Clinic, and to Dr. Taylor and staff of Oncology Specialists of Charlotte.
