Carl Andrew Street

Carl was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee to the late Earl and Vada Street on December 19, 1941. He graduated from Elizabethton High School in 1959. He later joined the United States Army in 1962 and became a part of the Quartermaster Corps.

Following his time in the Army, Carl graduated from East Tennessee State University in 1968. He earned a Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry. With this degree, Carl began a career as a manufacturer's agent of chemicals for various construction companies. He started his own business, Systems Sales, Inc., where he was the owner and president.

Carl was a devoted member of Philadelphia Presbyterian Church for many years and was a member of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class.

He loved sports, especially football. The Tennessee Volunteers was his favorite team. Carl coached youth baseball in Charlotte and directed youth basketball programs at Plaza United Methodist church. He played church and city league softball on the same teams as his two sons.

Carl is survived by his wife, Ellen Street; sons, Drew and Michael Street of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Leslie (Martin) Solem of Durham, NC; and granddaughter Edith Solem.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 19, 2024 from 12:00 to 1:00PM at Philadelphia Presbyterian Church, 11501 Bain School Road, Mint Hill, North Carolina 28227. A memorial service for Carl will follow.
