Carol always had a strong Christian faith and followed Jesus her entire life. Her heart and faith in the Lord were reflected in the way she lived her days and life to all who knew her. She was selfless, had a giving spirit and, most of all, loved being with her family. She went above and beyond for her family and always took immeasurable joy in making their birthdays and Christmases so special. Carol loved being with her beloved husband, daughters and grandchildren and always treasured the time spent and memories made with them on their trips to the beach and mountains.
Carol was born on August 11, 1941, in Charlotte, NC. She graduated from Central High School and worked at Southern Bell. She married the love of her life, Jesse, and they were blessed with 47 years and 3 loving daughters together. She devoted her life to her family and was a wonderful homemaker, who took great pleasure and contentment in raising and taking care of her family and was thankful and blessed to be a Mom and a Maw Maw to her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She never missed going to church no matter what and was always willing to serve with her gifts and talents.
She loved singing gospel hymns, music, her favorites, Dolly and Elvis, her dolls, cats and doggies, riding her bike and going on walks. She enjoyed cooking and baking, making people laugh with her sense of humor, sewing clothes for her girls and making ice skating dresses. Carol loved going shopping, always doing for others instead of herself, gummy bears, wintergreen lifesavers, going to McDonald’s, and oh yeah, an ice cold Diet Coke. But most of all, she loved Jesus and portrayed her life verse (Proverbs 3: 5-6) as evidenced by her inner strength to persevere through life’s trials by trusting in the Lord until he called her home.
Carol was preceded in death by her loving Mom, Anibur, and father, Jack Jones; her beloved husband, Jesse, and her daughter Betsy Cheely (Randy). She is survived by her daughters, Karen Klimt (Kevin) and Melanie Fox (Greg Pender); grandchildren, Leslie (Terry), Joey, Ezra and Jenna; great grandchildren, Bella, Abbie, Rocco, and Elisha; brother, Clayton (Debbie), and sister-in-laws, Nancy Fox and Susie Brown.
