Carol Nantz Lancaster

Carol Nantz Lancaster, 65, devoted and loving mother, sister and daughter, passed away on August 21, 2012 after a courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis and Lung Cancer. Carol was born on September 30, 1946 to Robert Lee “Poppy” and Sara Hall Hatley Nantz in Mooresville, NC. She grew up in Rockingham, NC and graduated from Rockingham High School in 1965 and attended Selenia Commercial College. Carol relocated to Charlotte with her family in 1974. She spent most of her career as a secretary at Central Piedmont Community College, from where she retired. After retirement, Carol moved to Locust, NC where she was a member of Locust Presbyterian Church.

> Carol is predeceased by her father and aunt, Nancy Ballard. She is survived by her son, Joey Lancaster and his wife, ShellyAnn Wall, mother; Sara Hall Nantz, brother; Fred (Ann) Nantz of Rockingham, NC, sisters; Gayle Nantz of Greensboro, NC and Kay N. Brown of Charlotte, guardian to “Lynnie” Ballard of Butner, NC and grandchildren; Brandon Casaletto and Lauren Golembiowski, as well as several nieces and nephews.

> Family will receive friends Friday, August 24, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at McEwen Mint Hill Chapel 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Rd. Charlotte, NC 28227. A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 26, 2012 at 3:00pm at Locust Presbyterian Church 607 Main Street West Locust, NC 28097.
