Charles Henry Blanton

Charles was proceeded in death by his parents, Henry and Mildred, his son Danny Trippy, and his grandson Van Barja.

He is survived by his ex-wife and lifelong friend Vernada Blanton, daughter Robin and her husband, John Barja, Jr., daughter Lisa Trippy, and grandsons Gibson and Lukas.

A good man has left our world. A father, grandfather, uncle and friend to all. “Pops” was a constant presence at family gatherings and outings. Always proud of his immediate family, his extended family, and all the children who cared so much about him. Such a strong man to have lived with Type 1 diabetes most all his life. Slight of build but with a big heart. Always generous to his family. Always ready to embark on the many adventures we shared. Rest easy, Charlie. You will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, located at 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC, 28227. The visitation is scheduled for February 22, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

The committal service will immediately follow the visitation at Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens, located at 1520 W Sugar Creek Road, Charlotte, NC, 28262.
