David was born on June 26, 1952, and was the son of the late Jerry Bain Honeycutt and Peggy Foard Honeycutt. He excelled in softball, golf, fishing and hunting. A true outdoorsman who was always quick with a joke and a slap on the back as he flashed that smile of his. He dearly loved his family and many, many friends, and will truly be missed.
He is survived by sons, Shan Honeycutt and Drew Honeycutt of Mint Hill, Jeramy Honeycutt and Jessica Honeycutt of Maryville, TN; brothers, Mike Honeycutt (Linda) and Jake Honeycutt (Melody); sisters, Eyvonne Carriker and Sue Kramer (David); five grandchildren and a large family of cousins, nieces and nephews. An informal visitation to celebrate his life will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm Saturday, February 17, 2018, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cancer research charity of your choice or the American Heart Assoc.
