Daisy Elizabeth Dennis Benton

Daisy Elizabeth Dennis Benton, 84, a lifelong resident of Mint Hill, passed away on October 6, 2013. Daughter of the late Fred Harran Dennis and Thelma Mullis Dennis, she was born on December 29, 1928. She was a member of Philadelphia Presbyterian Church of Mint Hill (Fred Brown Sunday School Class #25). She is retired from Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools as a cafeteria manager.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 8 from 6:30-8:00pm at McEwen Funeral Home in Mint Hill. A celebration of her life service will be held on Wednesday, October 9 at 2:00pm at Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Mint Hill. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. Daisy was well known for her love of family and wonderful cooking. She and her husband, Hub, were avid campers and loved the outdoors.

She was predeceased by her parents and her husband of 48 years, Herbert Harran Benton, and is survived by her 4 children, Andy (Debbie) Benton of Huntersville, NC, Larry (Nancy) Benton of Sherrills Ford, NC, Elaine (Mike) Fisher of Mint Hill, NC, and Fred (Barbara) Benton of Lancaster, She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grand-children .
