He was born on April 24, 1958 in Charlotte, NC to David Herman Cothran and Gloria Jean Garris Cothran.
David worked as a Framing Carpenter and then took over the family rental business in 1989. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, loved playing the drums; and even played in a few bands. He also loved going on vacation with his family. He was hilarious and unique in every sense of the word, and was always the life of the party. But most of all, he loved his wife, sons and his grandchildren.
Mr. Cothran is survived by his wife, Sandra Cothran; sons, David Michael Cothran of Locust, NC, Christopher Adam Cothran (Heather) of Mt. Pleasant, NC and Joshua Cothran of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Savannah and Christopher Cothran of Mt. Pleasant, NC; brothers, Michael Cothran (Denise) and Mark Cothran (Penny); mother, Jean Cothran and 11 nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, David Herman Cothran.
A visitation will be held from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Broadus Baptist Church, 59 Green St. SW, Concord, NC 28027.
Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens in Charlotte, NC.
