David Howie Yandell

His family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 1, at Blair Road United Methodist Church, with a service to celebrate David’s life to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary. The Rev. Johnny Lord will officiate. A private entombment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park Mausoleum.

David was born November 21, 1957, in Winston-Salem, NC to John W. and Helen Yandell. He graduated from R. J. Reynolds High School, and lived and worked in Greensboro until three years ago when he moved to Charlotte. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother, John Stephen Yandell.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Jason Yandell and his wife, Jessica, of Greensboro; sister, Jane Mueller of Lady’s Island, SC; sister, Beverly Yandell and husband, Rob, of Cumming, GA; and sister, Barbara Bunn and husband, Bob, of Mint Hill; and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.

David was a member of Blair Road United Methodist Church in Mint Hill and also a member of the “This ‘n That” Sunday School class, which meant a great deal to him.

The greatest gift David gave back to the world was his gentle nature. He was, indeed, a gentle giant. He will be remembered for his kind ways and sweet spirit.
