Lee was born on January 6, 1958, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Don Lee Farmer and Bette Prewitt. Lee spent his childhood in Alabama and after graduating from Decatur High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy. Lee was able to travel the world while serving our country and worked primarily as a Corpsman. He served in the Navy for approximately 17 years and 9 months. During his service, he met the love of his life, Robyn, in 1988 and they married June 1, 1991.
While stationed at Camp Lejeune, Lee and Robyn had their daughter, Alicen. Lee was so proud of his family. After retiring from the Navy, he and Robyn spent every day together. As Robyn's health declined, Lee was always by her side and offered unwavering support, despite his own struggles with his health. After her death in 2012, Lee remained strong and optimistic. He welcomed his son-in-law, Alex, to the family in October 2018. Lee moved in with his daughter and son-in-law towards the end of his life. They moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, in December 2023. Prior to his death, Lee had the opportunity to travel to Hawaii with Alicen, Alex and his caretaker. Although he was well traveled, he had never been to Hawaii before. While in Hawaii, he felt no pain and enjoyed every minute spending time with his family. Lee passed shortly after this trip, but the memories that were made in Hawaii will last a lifetime.
Lee meant so much to those who loved him. Lee was stubborn and stood firm in his values. He could make anybody laugh and never missed an opportunity to make a funny joke. He was also a skilled woodworker and could craft anything he set his mind to. Lee loved watching football with friends and family on the weekends and never missed an opportunity to say "Roll Tide!" Lee leaves behind a legacy of strength, bravery, optimism and a healthy dose of stubbornness. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Lee was predeceased by his wife, Robyn Farmer. He is survived by his daughter, Alicen Gordon (Alex); siblings, Linda Templeton (Wes), Gregory Farmer (Lori), Art Ard, and half-sister, Donna Farmer; and his dog, Maxwell Cruz Gordon.
