Dr. Donald Cyril Jessep Jr.

He was born June 9, 1938 to the late Donald C. Jessep and Ruby Jessep of Pittsburgh, PA. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Jane Jessep; a sister, Judith Jessep of Pittsburgh, PA; nephews, Michael G. Jones of Huntersville, Ronald J. Jones of Plano, TX and Thomas M. Jones of Indian Trail. He is also survived by his beloved dogs, Baxter and Buckley.

Don received his B.S., M.S. and PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh where he continued post-doctoral research and teaching. In 1967, he joined IBM working at the Yorktown HTS Research Division. After several years in research where he received a NASA commendation for work on Voyager II, Don transferred to the E. Fishkill Division. While in New York, Don also taught classes at N.Y.U. When IBM opened a site in Charlotte, Don decided to transfer to the sunny South and retired from IBM in 1992. He was a consultant to several companies.

After a lifetime of receiving many academic awards and professional accomplishments, Don returned to his first love, teaching. He was a full time instructor at CPCC until his final professional retirement.
