Donna lived a life of love, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family. Born in Noranda, Quebec, Canada, she attended school at St. Joseph-Scollard Hall in North Bay, Ontario. In 1964, Donna and her beloved husband, "Red," moved to Charlotte, NC where they built a beautiful life together and obtained their US citizenship in 2000.
Donna had a magnetic presence, always angelic and filled with warmth. She found joy in attending social events, family gatherings, and cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events, or offering a listening ear to a friend, she did so with grace, style, and a radiant smile. A passionate reader, an avid shopper, and a lover of card games, Donna thrived in the presence of her family and friends. She will be remembered most for her compassion, impeccable style, wisdom, and her boundless love for her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
She was an extraordinary wife, a wonderful mother, an adoring Nana, and a treasured friend to many. Her kindness will forever inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Claude "Red" Ouimet; children, Tracie Clark (Steve). Teddy Ouimet, Shawn Ouimet, and Michelle Neubauer (Todd); grandchildren, Meredith Batchelor Korn (Zach), Tallas Batchelor, Carson Ouimet, Noah Neubauer, Addison Ouimet, Nyle Neubauer, and Nolan Neubauer; and brother, Earl Trottier (Joyce). She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Eva Trottier, and sister, Ruth Anderson.
A celebration of Donna's life will be announced in the coming days. The family kindly asks that you honor Donna's memory by performing an act of kindness or simply cherishing a moment with those you love - just as she always did.
Forever in our hearts, her light continues to shine.
