Eddie Dean Benton

Born May 28, 1950 in Union County, North Carolina, Eddie was a son of the late Amos Joel Benton and Rossie P. Benton Johnson. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his brothers, Amos, Jayhue and Grady Benton; and his sister, Nelta Yow.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Terry M. Benton; his son, Brian J. Benton and wife, Haley, of Indian Trail, North Carolina; his daughter, Jennifer B. Cook and husband, Travis, of Indian Trail, North Carolina; granddaughters, Alyssa Marie Benton and Nora Raegan Cook; and his sister, Barbara Whitley and husband, Calvin, of Mount Pleasant, North Carolina.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Clear Creek Baptist Church, 9015 Ferguson Road in Charlotte, with Pastor Homer Murdock and the Reverend Don Liske officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens in Mint Hill.
