Eleanor Ritter Frederick

Born on March 24, 1936, Eleanor grew up in Duplin County, NC, and graduated from Warsaw High School in 1954.

A longtime resident of Mint Hill, NC, Eleanor was a devoted member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, where she actively participated until her health no longer allowed. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she will be remembered for her unwavering commitment to Jesus and her family.

After retiring, Eleanor embraced her love of travel, exploring new places and making cherished memories. She was known for her joyful spirit—fun-loving and always glad to see you. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Marjorie Thompson and husband Lance of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Mitch Frederick and wife Teresa of Mint Hill, NC; her sisters, Nan Ritter and Edythe Allen; grandchildren, Chandler (Dustin) Cox, Savannah Thompson, Taylor Love, and Hayden (Aaron) Massey; and great-grandchildren, Thompson Cox, Raelyn and Ada Grace Massey, and Olive Mori.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Curtis Frederick; her parents, Leon and Vernette Ritter; and her sisters, Lois Brinson and Alene Whaley.

Eleanor’s legacy of love, faith, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227. Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 PM in the chapel. Eleanor will be laid to rest next to her husband at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, NC 28212.
