

Mr. Williams was the son of the late Daniel Alexander Williams and the late Rebecca Isabel Green Williams, of Charlotte. Frank retired from the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System and was a school bus mechanic. He had a passion for gardening, especially tomatoes. He loved growing them and giving them away to family, friends, and strangers. He also had a love for mules. When he was in better health, he enjoyed the Horse and Mule shows in Denton, N.C. He loved visiting with family and friends and reminiscing about growing up on a farm in the 1930’s.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rachel Biggers Williams of Mint Hill, daughter Lisa Williams of Charlotte, daughter and son-in-law Leslie Beth (L.B.) Sossoman and Eric Sossoman of Concord, one grandson, Nathan Sossoman; one sister, Grace Stegall of Indian Trail; two brothers Brad Williams, of Charlotte and Olin Williams, of Huntersville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome to visit with the family from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2015 at McEwen Funeral Service, 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill. Immediately following the visitation, a memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 2 p.m. in the Mint Hill Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens and Mausoleum at 8901 Lawyers Road in Mint Hill. At other times, the family will meet at the home of his daughter, Beth in Concord.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Mr. Williams’ passion for feeding others, donations may be made in his honor to the Second Harvest Food Bank (500 Spratt Street # B, Charlotte NC 28206) or to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region (1420 East Seventh Street, Charlotte NC 28204). Special thanks to the nurse practitioners, nurses, caregivers, and physicians at University Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region for their compassionate care.
