Geraldine "Gerri" Wall Evans

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015 at McEwen Funeral Service–Mint Hill Chapel with entombment to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Evans was born August 1, 1929 in Rutherford County N.C., a daughter of the late Era Rollins Wall. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Julius Evans, sister Louise Wall Price and step son Ronald Evans. Gerri was retired as a manager with Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Co. She was a Life Member of The Telephone Pioneers of America. She and her husband Lloyd were longtime members of Wilson Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Evans is survived by her step daughter Sheila Selby and husband Lynn of Ohio; niece Beth Francis and husband Neil of Ellenboro; nephews, Wesley Price and wife Barbara of Pennsylvania, Dale Price and wife Linda of Cliffside; best friend, Margie Moore and husband Harace of Charlotte; God-Daughter, Brett-Danielle Moore Ashton of Denver; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and four God granddaughters.
