As a Navy Junior, Geff moved often in his youth. After his father’s death in 1963, the family settled in Arlington, Virginia.
He graduated from Wakefield High School in 1964, Lafayette College in 1968, and upon graduation accepted a commission as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
His military service career in Armor included tours in Germany and Vietnam as well as stateside. While serving in Fort Knox, Kentucky, Geff was in charge of the creation of the Patton Museum. Of all his military duties, he cherished most the training and teaching of young soldiers.
After retiring from the military as a Major, Geff spent several years in creative enterprises, eventually settling in Mint Hill.
Geff is survived by his wife and soul- mate, Tricia Spencer Bunn, with whom he spent the happiest last eleven years of his life. Sharing a passion for travel, they discovered the world by land, sea, and air.
He is also survived by his precious daughter, Stephanie Candace Bunn Grady, her husband, Shawn, and their four children, Dylan, Cami, Aaron, and Brandon.
Receiving of friends will begin at MorningStar Presbyterian Church in Matthews, NC, from 2:30 pm-3:30pm on Saturday, August 27, 2011, followed by his memorial service. Reverend Steve Mitchell will officiate. His place of rest will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
