It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Robert Raulerson on February 19, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on May 20, 1956, he was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, Pop Pop, and friend.
To those who knew him best, he was JR, Jim, or Pop Pop—a man whose warmth, humor, and generosity left a lasting mark on everyone he met. An avid hunter and fisherman, Jim loved the great outdoors and the thrill of a good catch. A natural salesman by trade, he built a successful career through his hard work, determination, and ability to connect with people.
Jim had a deep love for family traditions, especially when it came to celebrating holidays. He found joy in cooking for his family, making every gathering special with his delicious meals and festive spirit. Some of his happiest times were spent on beach trips with his wife and family, where he embraced the simple pleasures of sun, sand, and time with loved ones.
Above all, Jim’s greatest pride and joy were his three granddaughters: Julia, Abbey, and Hannah. He adored them beyond words and cherished every moment spent with them, going on adventures in nature, fishing at the beach, cutting up at family gatherings, and filling their lives with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, James William “JW” Raulerson; mother, Annette Raulerson; and brother, Alan Raulerson. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Linda Raulerson; his sons, Jeff Robbins (Laura) and Jason Robbins (Katie); and his beloved granddaughters, Hannah, Julia, and Abbey Robbins. He is also survived by his brother, Paul Raulerson (Tanya), and their children, Paul Jr “PJ” and Jessica Raulerson; his sister, Stephanie (Bryant) Gregory, and their daughters, Megan Youmans (Hunter), Mary (John), and Madison; his brother Alan’s family Sandra and daughter Sarah Schick (Andreas); his sister, Roxanne (Randy) Brewer, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
A funeral and memorial service was held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church; a recording of the service is available on the church’s Facebook page.
A Mass at St. John Neumann Catholic Church will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 11:30AM.
May he rest in eternal peace.
