Jeanne Orders Baker Crump

She was born on August 16, 1934, and was the youngest daughter of Theodore and Margaret Ruth Orders. Jeanne was preceded in death by both her parents and her sister, Laura Carolyn Orders Freeman, as well as her loving husband of 31 years and father of their three boys, Charles Donald Baker. Jeanne was also preceded in death by her second husband of 9 years, Paul William Crump.

Jeanne is survived by her three sons, Donald Ross (Becky, deceased); Charles Michael (Cindi) and David Wayne (Sherri). She was blessed with nine grandchildren in eight years: Matthew, Carrie and Thomas Baker; Nikki (Nathan Herlong), Chris (Janette) Baker, Keely (Steven Allison); Kilbi (Sean Branch), Jacob (Candace) and Chad (Jessica) Baker. In addition, she is survived by 12 great grandchildren: Bayden and Campbell Herlong; Charlie and Emmy Baker; Mills Allison; Chloe, Saylor, and Baker Branch; Badin and Bentley Baker; and Cruz and Luke Baker. Jeanne loved her family deeply and was extremely proud of each of them.

Jeanne was employed by Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools for over 25 years at Albemarle Road Middle school where she was the school secretary. She retired in 1997. Jeanne attended Grace Baptist Church for many years and then she was part of the Love Class at Hickory Grove Baptist. Jeanne loved her dear friends, her church, a good book and her Hallmark movies. She appreciated hard work and responsibility; virtues she encouraged in her beloved family. Jeanne will be missed by her family and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 25th at 1:30pm at Charlotte Memorial Gardens 7632 Hood Rd, Charlotte, NC 28215.
