Jo Ann Bodenheimer, 88, passed away April 17, 2018, at Royal Park of Matthews. Born and raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, she was the only child born to the late Jo and Buck Clodfelter.

Jo Ann was married to the late John C. “Hop” Bodenheimer, her high school sweetheart. She retired from CMS and enjoyed her years of retirement at Surfside Beach, South Carolina, where she was an active member of First Baptist Church of Surfside Beach. Jo Ann had a zest for life, and loved God, family and friends with all her heart.

Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Pressley and husband, Gene; sons, Steve Bodenheimer and wife, Daria, and Al Bodenheimer and his late wife, Susan; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 am Friday, April 20, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill, with a funeral service to immediately follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be held 3:00 pm Friday, in Oaklawn Memorial Park in Winston-Salem.

Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Charlotte Region, 7845 Little Avenue, Charlotte, North Carolina 28226, or Greater Life Church, 7700 Wallace Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28212.
