He is survived by wife Jean and two sons and daughter-in-laws, Gordon and Jaime Stegall and Jacob and Wendy Stegall, eight grand-dogs, brother Barry Stegall and wife Becky, and Sister Donna Garmon.
He was an Army veteran and awarded two purple hearts for his service in Vietnam, ’66-’67. He worked as a District Manager for Piedmont Natural Gas for 43 years, retiring in December 2004. He was involved in Gideons and served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church Indian Trail.
Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church Indian Trail on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 1:00pm. A visitation with the family will be held from 11:30am until service time.
