Johnny "John" Lane Comer

John graduated from Kings Business College and co-founded and was president of Comer-Harkey Steel Corp for 40 years. He was involved in various projects over the southeast USA and a few projects outside of the country. He was also President of Union County Shrine Club for two terms.

He was a devoted family man, happily married for 57 years and blessed with two sons. He enjoyed getting away to go fishing, watching NASCAR, and traveling with his wife, Jo. He was always interested in the people that he worked with and was a dependable friend that people could count on, he will be greatly missed.

John was pre-deceased by his brothers, Horace Comer, Keith Comer, and Rick Comer.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Comer; his sons, David Comer and Greg Comer; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Cannon (David) and Barbara Black.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC. A visitation will be held prior from 10:30 to 11:30 am at McEwen Funeral Home - Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Charlotte, NC.
