Jon loved to travel and enjoyed being outdoors. He was an avid sports fan and had a passion for bodybuilding.
He is survived by his parents Jerry and Janet Rushing; aunts Wanda Bullard (Bill), Margaret Lechler (Edwin)and Helen Beaver (Wesley); uncles, Chad Messer, and Ron Messer (Linda).
Jon was preceded in death by his grandparents; Arthur and Evelyn Messer and Carl and Gertrude Rushing.
A visitation with the family will be from 12-1pm Monday, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel,
7428 Matthews Mint Hill Rd in Mint Hill.
A graveside service will immediately follow the visitation in Sunset Memory Gardens in Mint Hill.
