Joyce Marie Burris

With love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Joyce Marie Tucker Burris, age 78, on December 20, 2025. Joyce was formerly of Midland and Mint Hill, NC, and most recently made her home in Mount Pleasant, NC.

Born on June 15, 1947, Joyce pursued her passions with determination and pride. She graduated from Cosmetology NC and later earned an associate degree in Child Care Development from Stanly County Community College. Joyce dedicated more than 20 years of service to Walmart in Concord, NC, where she was known for her strong work ethic and warm personality.

Joyce was kind‑hearted, very independent, and incredibly hard‑working. She had a natural artistic talent and a deep love for children, qualities that shaped both her personal and professional life. She found joy in creating, caring, and giving—always offering her time, her talents, and her heart to those around her.

Above all, Joyce will be remembered most for her loving heart. Her compassion, creativity, and quiet strength touched the lives of many, and her legacy will continue to live on in the memories of those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children, Aaron Burris (Gail) of Stanfield, NC, Cindy Troutman (Brad) of Stanfield, NC, Matthew Burris (Angela) of Tennessee, and Nathan Burris (Ashton) of Mount Pleasant, NC; grandchildren, Ashlyne Anderson (Phil), Ryan Burris (Alexandria), Chandler Burris (Emily), Tyler Layton (Haley), Andrew Burris, Cyle Burris, Anthoni Troutman, Dade Burris, Nathan Troutman, and Edyn Burris, sisters; Phyllis Simpson (Mott) or Marshville, NC and Janet Mathis of Mint Hill, NC; and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Alice Tucker, and brother, James "Jimmy" Tucker.

A visitation will be held at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, located at 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227, on December 30, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

The committal service will immediately follow the visitation at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
