Ken was born in West Germany on January 13, 1971. He moved with his family to the USA later in 1971; over the next 15 years they lived in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Nebraska. After moving to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, he graduated from Chapel Hill High School in 1989. In high school he excelled playing soccer as well as football. He then went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in May of 1993.
He was a diligent and hard worker. This could be seen as he worked as a teacher and later the treasurer of the school. He made field day a great fun day for not just the students but also the staff. Ken went above and beyond for school plays by buildings many of the sets from scratch.
Ken was also loyal, giving and generous. He was faithful beyond compare no matter how difficult the circumstances were and would never complain. Ken was a devoted father who adored his daughters. He was persistent in all aspects of his life; whether playing with his daughters or fighting cancer.
He loved reading, playing volleyball or softball, and participating in bowling leagues. When he was not playing sports he enjoyed watching them, especially the Carolina Panthers or the University of Nebraska football. Ken loved his three-legged dog Kayla, Star Wars, Marvel movies and comics, but he mostly loved spending time with his girls.
Ken will be remembered by his kids at school who loved him. Many believe that the school will never be the same without him. He was tough but also tender-hearted. The legacy he is leaving behind are his girls that he raised plus the thousands of students that he impacted.
He is survived by his daughters, Paige and Audrey Henderson; parents, Brian C. and Donna K. Henderson; sisters, Stephanie E. Spies (Scott), Jessica C. Quesenberry (David), and Cari J. Huddleston (Jason); and grandmother, Diane D. Weber.
A celebration of life for Kenneth will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 10:00 AM at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
