

He was born March 23, 1937 in York, SC to the late Sidney Black Johnson and Flossie Pruett Johnson. He was the husband to the late Geraldine Johnson for almost 30 years.
In addition to his wife and parents, Ken was preceded in death by his brother, Stan Johnson; son, Tony Johnson; granddaughter, Nicole Johnson, and step-son, Michael Burns.
Ken retired from Bowater Paper Mill in Catawba, SC after 40 years of service. After retiring, he pursued his passion for golf. His pastime was watching television, especially, watching football and golf. He also enjoyed playing with Bella. Ken was an active member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, and was a Mason member of lodge 385 in Rock Hill, SC.
Ken is survived by his sister, Lynn Johnson of York, SC; sons, Marty and Scott Johnson of Rock Hill, SC; daughter Tina (Pete) Milosavljevic of Clarington, OH; five grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two step-daughters, Sharon Burns and Jennifer (Steve) Sisk, both of Charlotte, and three step-grandchildren. But most importantly, he is survived by his sweet dog, Bella.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Latin American Campus, 7200 East W. T. Harris Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28215. A visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery, Rock Hill, South Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Tucker Hospice House in Kannoplis, whom provided wonderful care in Ken’s final days.
