Larry K. Shelton

Larry Keith Shelton, 82, of Matthews, NC, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the Tucker Hospice House of Cabarrus County. He was born on January 15, 1930 to the late Robert and Nellie Shelton of Browns Summit, NC.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Alley Shelton, daughter, Lee Ann Shelton of Matthews, son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Belinda Shelton of Lewisville, NC, two grandchildren, Drew and Sara Shelton, brother, Oscar Shelton of Albemarle, NC and sister, Marjorie “Doodle” Cook of Browns Summit, NC.

He was a kind and gentle soul who enjoyed yard work and Atlanta Braves baseball.

The family wishes to thank Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County and also the staff and friends at Carebridge Assisted Living Center of Mount Pleasant, NC, where he resided for several years.

Larry has chosen to donate his body to medical science at Wake Forest School of Medicine. A private family service will be held.
