

Mrs. Thomas, 106, of Charlotte, left her earthly body for God’s heavenly kingdom on Sunday, August 15, 2010. She had resided at the Brian Center on Reddman Road for the past 13 years. She was born February 10, 1904, in Charlotte, daughter of the late Jesse Lindsay Parker and Annie Louisa Hodge Parker. Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Edd Clifton Thomas, son, Clifton Parks Thomas, daughters, Carolyn Thomas Wolfe and Glenda Carol Thomas, and grandson, Richard Clifton Thomas. Mrs. Thomas will be remembered for her loving, kind and gentle spirit, as well as her quick sense of humor. She was a long-time member of Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church.
Her funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 18, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, with The Rev. Andrew Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Survivors include a daughter, Doris Thomas Troutman and her husband, Kenneth, granddaughters, Beverly Thomas Stewart and her husband, Alfred, and Christie Troutman Bumgarner and her husband, Billy, all of Charlotte; great-granddaughters, Carrie Bratton (Brian), Erin Neitzel (Lee), and Melissa Barbee (Josh); great-great-granddaughter, Isabella Bratton; daughter-in-law, Iris Sue Thomas; and son-in-law, Wayne Wolfe.
Thank you to the nurses and staff at Brian Center Health who care for Mrs. Thomas with sincere kindness and attention for the past four years.
