Margaret Elizabeth Helms Hartsell

Her family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 29, 2011 at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home chapel. The Reverend Rick Duncan, a long time family friend, will officiate. Interment will follow in Dulin’s Grove Advent Christian Church Cemetery.

Born February 19, 1915 in Allen Station, NC, Mrs. Hartsell was a daughter of the late William and Daisy Hagler Helms. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus C. Hartsell, in 1976. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hartsell was preceded in death by daughters, Grace Hartsell, Infant Girl and Sue Moore; sons, Clinton Hartsell, Vance Hartsell and Clarence Hartsell; three grandchildren, eight brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Hartsell is survived by one sister, Marie Hutto; five daughters, Louise Benton, Rachel Noles, Ann Plexico, Faye Lee and Kay Buchanan; two sons, Bobby Hartsell and Ricky Hartsell; eleven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hartsell will be remembered as a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
