

Margaret "Peggy" Dawn Turner Morgan, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2017, at Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville, surrounded by her loving and supportive family. She was 89 years old.
Born August 15, 1927, in Roanoke, Virginia, Peggy was the daughter of the late Oscar Morris Turner and Bessie Arnn Turner. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joseph “Papa Joe” Allen Morgan. Peggy was a member of Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church. She will be remembered for love of family, friends, and her church community. Peggy truly enjoyed big band era music and “talking, talking.” She was such a cheerful and loving person to be around. Everyone loved her dry wit and the sassy twinkle in her eye. Peggy had a sincere interest in everyone she met and always looked for and found the good in others.
In addition to her parents and husband, Peggy was preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Arnn, and sister, Audrey Turner.
She leaves behind her children, Connie Morgan Parker and husband, Vann Parker, Cathy Morgan Schneider and husband, Paul Schneider, and J. Alan Morgan and wife, Sandra Hill Morgan; grandchildren, Ginny Parker Woods and husband, John Woods, Ann Parker McKeehon and husband, Robert McKeehon, Cory Brian Schneider, Nathan Morgan Schneider, and Dara Schneider Berkwits and husband, Jess Berkwits; and great-grandchildren, Nina Woods, Teddy Woods, Helen McKeehon, Frances McKeehon and Jacob Berkwits.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation and reception with the family from 5:00 until 7:00 Tuesday evening, May 9, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill, with a funeral service to immediately follow at 7:00 in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Ron Tippens will officiate. A private graveside service will be held Wednesday, in Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church Renovations Fund, Post Office Box 25903, Charlotte, North Carolina 28229.
