She was born on Nov. 3, 1937, in Mecklenburg County, NC, to Johnnie and Verdie Johnston Auten.
Visitation will be at the McEwen-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Rd., Mint Hill, NC, on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, from 1-2 p.m., followed by her service at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn East Cemetery. Reverend Johnny Lord will officiate.
Survivors include her son-in-law, Harvey Wasner, Matthews, NC; three sisters, Thelma (Joe) Plummer, Charlotte; Doris (Joe) Martin, Harrisburg, NC; and Ruby (Carl) Rushing, Mint Hill, NC; her brother, Melvin Auten, Murryville, GA; sister-in-law, Sarah Wallace, Denver, NC; step granddaughter, Stephanie Lowe, Indian Trail, NC; and fifteen nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy A. Dellinger; daughter, Karen D. Wasner; and two sisters.
