

Betsy is survived by her children Paul Belk, Andy Belk, Chris Crowell and John Crowell. She is preceded in death by Robert F. Hewitt and Mary Jamison Hewitt her parents and her first husband, Paul Webster Belk.
Betsy was born on April 24th, 1954 in Jacksonville, NC, she was adopted by Bob and Mary Hewitt. She graduated from Piedmont High School in 1972. She also attended King's Business College with her Associate's Degree in Business in 1974. She married Paul Webster Belk whom she met at Piedmont High School. Betsy began working for Southern Bell Telephone Company as an operator, and eventually, she became a mother to Paul and Andy. Her first husband Webster passed away in 1977, and she would face life as a single parent. Later she remarried and had Chris and John Crowell. She was a great mother to her four boys often transporting them to school and various sports such as football as well as baseball practices and games. In 1990 she resumed her career, and in 2000 she started working with Family Dollar Corporation in the corporate offices in Matthews, NC. She progressed within Family Dollar and befriended many wonderful coworkers.
Betsy was accomplished at many things from possessing the ability to see a problem organize resources to help provide solutions to help solve issues in life such as work and family. She was a caring person who adopted anyone who needed a friend or parental figure. She lived life out loud, and she was passionate about her family and friends. She loved to travel and go on cruises seeing the world. She loved lighthouses and anything to do with the ocean. She loved animals, and she loved her little dog, Casey.
Betsy possessed many fruits of the spirit, and she lived the Christian faith out loud. She was raised in that faith and accepting people where he or she is and just loving them without judgment.
Betsy will be missed by many and remembered for the beautiful woman that she was. She is not in pain she is dwelling in glory beside her Lord and Savior. Hallelujah!! Amen.
