Mary Lynne Kelly Monroe

An 11:00am visitation and 1:00pm memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 21, at Wilson Grove Baptist Church, with graveside service immediately following at Sunset Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Monroe was born in Lee County, one of eleven children of Roland J. and Clara Howard Kelly. She was married to Jack J. Monroe for 43 years before his passing in 1998.

Mrs. Monroe is a retired employee of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools; spending 21 years at Bain Elementary in Mint Hill.

She was a member of Wilson Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Jack A. Monroe, his wife Kathy, and their two children, Dylan and Jaclyn; Mark Monroe, his wife Andrea and their three children, Maxwell, Jeremiah and Shelby; and daughter, Jan Monroe Dease, her husband Dean, and their two daughters, M’Lynn and Abby. Mrs. Monroe has three surviving sisters, Carolyn Buchanan of Sanford, Polly Carter of Kingsport, TN and Ida Brown of Lillington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Wilson Grove Baptist Church, 6624 Wilgrove-Mint Hill Rd., Mint Hill, NC 28227.
