Monia Faye Summers

Monia was predeceased by her adoring husband, John Edwin Summers of Hilton Head; and her children, Joan Walters, Steven Walters, and Thomas Walters. She was also predeceased by her beloved mother, Eva Bass Clark; and brothers, Thomas Earl Bass and Elliotte Bass. She is survived by her loving sister, Genivee Stein (Michael); her devoted children, Pam Sherman (Dan), Preston Walters, and June Arrington (Ray). She is also survived by her adoring children by marriage, Michael Summers (Cindy), Sharon Summers, Mark Summers (Teresa), and Susan Summers.

Her grandchildren and great grandchildren who will continue to carry her memory include Michael Joan Hammonds (Nick) with son Brandon Todd Powley, Lydia Walters with daughter Ophelia, Kylar Perrotti (Carson), Alexa Kimman (Jack), Savannah Summers, Madison Summers, Jennifer Walters with children Ethan and Savannah, and Heather Walters with daughters Haley and Brianna, and grandson Phillip son of Mark Summers.

Monia’s professional background was in graphic arts. Her loves include sewing and embroidery, home decorating, canvas painting, and duck carving. Her greatest love was quilting where she produced magnificent pieces for her own enjoyment and countless pieces created for and cherished by her loved ones as well as donated to give peace and comfort for children who are ill and the elderly.

Monia (Yaya, Mama) was a beautiful light in this world, and she will be missed by so many. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved her.

A private ceremony will follow (tbd) with a Celebration of Life to follow in Hilton Head.
