

Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness, compassion and faith touched everyone who knew her. A lifelong follower of the Lord, she found great strength in her walk with Christ and in the love of her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gerald Givens, with whom she shared 60 wonderful years of marriage; daughter Jennifer Givens Poole and her husband Ross Poole; son Joshua Givens and his wife Stephanie Givens; and her cherished grandson Zachary Poole. She is also survived by her sister Patricia Gignilliat, and brothers Ernest Gignilliat and Earl Gignilliat, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved grandson Brandon Poole, her mother Lucille Black Gignilliat, and her father Eurl Roy Gignilliat.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and deep devotion to her family. Her warmth and quiet strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her motto was to treat others the way she wanted to be treated and she lived it every moment of every day.
A special thank you to the amazing caregivers and staff at The Post of Mint Hill who loved our mom as if she was your own. You all held such a special place in her heart and she loved each one of you.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday November 15, 2025 at 10:30am at Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens located at 1520 W Sugar Creek Road, Charlotte, NC 28262. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Nancy’s life and to share memories of her beautiful legacy.
