

Priscilla Long Hinson, age 72, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on January 29, 2026. She was born on March 21, 1953, in Salisbury, NC, and later made Charlotte her lifelong home. A proud graduate of Garinger High School, Priscilla carried her gentle spirit and love for others with her throughout her life.
Priscilla was a woman of deep warmth and creativity. She was a member of both Yadkin Methodist Church and Hickory Grove Methodist Church, where she found community and strength in her faith. Gifted in the arts, she enjoyed painting, music, and playing guitar. Her love for animals was well known by all who knew her, and she spent much of her time caring for and delighting in their companionship. Priscilla also enjoyed volunteering with the Literacy Guild in Salisbury for a number of years, assisting young children to read.
Those closest to Priscilla describe her as generous, caring, and loving—qualities that defined her life and relationships. She will be remembered most for her bright smile, her compassion for people, and her unwavering love for animals. Her presence brought comfort, joy, and understanding to those blessed to share life with her.
Priscilla is survived by her sister, Monica (Berry) Miller, and her brother, Pat (Margaret) Long, as well as several nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phant Long and Margaret Sells Taylor, and her grandparents, Mae Sells and Burette Sells.
A graveside service will be held on February 10, 2026, at 12:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Park, located at 601 Mt Olivet Rd, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
