

Richard, 66, of Mint Hill, died June 27, 2010 at his residence.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 P.M. Tuesday at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Arlington Baptist Church, where he was a member. The Rev. Dr. Steve Gandy will officiate. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
Born December 10, 1943 in Gaffney, SC, Richard was a son of Ben Kiser and the late Dorothy Patterson Kiser. The most important things in his life were God and his family. Richard taught Sunday school for 35 years, was chairman of deacons and served on numerous committees in his church.
Richard worked 44 years with Bell South. Because of his strong work ethic, he made it from the low-level entry position on the frame to a manager in the office of the vice president. In fact, he installed the first ESS system in Charlotte. Richard was not only loved and respected by his family and friends, but also by his co-workers.
In addition to his mother, Richard was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Rickey Kiser, one sister, Wanda Kiser and one son-in-law, Rusty Daniels.
He was a devoted husband and father and always put family first.
In addition to his father, Richard is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 48 years, Linda Hopper Kiser; three daughters, Tamea Daniels, Angela Siler and husband, Paul, and Deana Kiser; and was a father to eight grandchildren and their significant others, Richard “Tony” Kiser and Megan Dobbins, Lindsay Schmidt and Matthew Schmidt, Ethan Stillinger and Kate Danza, Jay Daniels and Brittany Lane, Tess Siler, Ashton Withers, Mallory Withers, and Bailey Withers. Richard is also survived by two brothers, Daryl and Mickey Kiser; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
