Robert was born on September 14, 1928, in Charlotte, North Carolina. He worked at Transport Clearings in Charlotte and was a member of Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Mint Hill. He served in the Army.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Barbara Kistler; a son, Gary Kistler; and a son-in-law, Ronald Payne
He is survived by son, Greg Kistler and wife, Dale; daughter, Gail Payne; daughter-in-law, Lourdes Kistler; and grandchildren, Heather Wilson, Justin Kistler, Austin Kistler, Ileana Kistler, and Chase Phillips. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Friday March 7, at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, North Carolina 28208.
