

She was born in Charlotte in 1936 and graduated from Harding High School in 1954. She went to work for Southern Bell Telephone Company that same year as a switchboard operator. She held many positions with them over the years until her retirement in 1986.
Roe Ann is survived by her daughters Susan (David) Hey and Kimberly (Ashley) Pace, grandchildren Christy (Mike) Baucom, Cassidy (Shannon) Hey, Brandon (Carolyn) Hey, Morgan Pace, Aubrey Pace, and Henry Pace. Great-grandchildren Dallas (Garrett) Long, Dawson (Rachael) Baucom, Dylan Baucom, Knox Hey, Colton Hey, Lincoln Hey, Lila Hey, Bryn Hey.
She was preceded in death by her father and her mother, Beaufy Puckett, her brothers George Puckett and Pete Puckett, her ex-husband Bob Hill, her best friend and cousin Dorothy Kelly.
She was loved by all, especially all of her family’s furbabies.
A memorial service will be held at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, located at 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Charlotte, NC, 28227, United States. The service is scheduled for February 7, 2026, at 10:00 am.
