Sammy, son of Samuel Benjamin Burr and Queenie Clontz Burr, was born in Stanly County on June 1, 1945. He organized Burr Wallcovering, Incorporated of which he was the President and CEO for 35 years.
He married "Sandy" Almond Burr and were together for 52 wonderful years. They had three daughters; Dr. Lauren Ozbolt (Sean), Ali Burr and Mary Burr Newsome (Blaine). Sammy's pride and joy were his granddaughters; Ava and Eliza Ozbolt, Elyn and Adele Aldrich, Georgia Sam and Eve Newsome. He is also survived by his brother; Walter Burr (Ann) of Concord, North Carolina.
Sammy was faithfully committed to his God, his wife and his family. " To meet him is to know him." He was a loving, genuine man who realized that his God was his sole strength. He committed his life to telling other people about hope in Jesus.
He taught his family the principles of God and lived them out to the best of his ability. His legacy will live on through his family in generations to come.
"Peace I live with you. My Peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled; neither let it be afraid." - John 14: 27
