Shirley Anastasi

A young widow, Shirley raised her 5 children, kept them well fed, beautifully clothed, and educated. She let her kids know they were loved unconditionally. She was the best grandmother to 8 happy children, cooked meatballs that were legendary, told hilarious stories, and loved hosting large family gatherings. Also, she was quite the cardshark. Game for anything, Shirley happily vacationed in Paris and went white-water rafting at age 78. She could make us laugh until we cried, and often when we cried, she made us laugh.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband, William and beloved son, Chuckie.

She is survived by her 5 children; Sam Anastasi, Joe (Tara) Anastasi, Rose Anastasi (Randy Bell), Shirley (Keith) Schuster and Kenneth Simmons, grandchildren; Ashley, Anthony, Amanda, Kelly, Megan, Georgina, Connor and Mason, great-grandchildren; Alexandra, David, Vinny, Anthony, Sky, Finnin, Brooke, Bradley and Leo.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Kiwanis International Clubs.
