Shirley Phillips Hill

Shirley Phillips Hill, 92, of Concord, NC, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025. Born and raised in Mint Hill, NC, Shirley was the heart and matriarch of her family. She dedicated her life to caring for others, always the one her loved ones could turn to for support, guidance, and strength.

Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, M.D. Hill, and her great-grandson, Jaxson D. Hill. She is survived by her three children, Stephen Hill (Lynn), Susan H. Carr (Scott), and Thomas Hill; her grandchildren Michael Hill (Heather), Camie James (Chad), Alex Harris (Jake), and Morgan Carr; and her cherished great-grandchildren.

Her faith was her foundation, and her family her greatest joy. Known for her fiery spirit and generous heart, Shirley lived a life of service, love, and devotion to her family, friends, and community. She will be remembered always as a source of wisdom, laughter, and unconditional love.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 11:00AM to 12:15PM at McEwen Funeral Service - Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Road Mint Hill, North Carolina 28227, with a service to follow at 12:30PM. Shirley will be laid to rest following the service at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road Mint Hill, North Carolina 28227.
