Tony Darrell Hall

Tony was born on August 1, 1945, in Kannapolis NC, to Joe and Gatha Hall. Tony graduated from Garinger High School and King’s College. He was then drafted into the US Army in 1968 where he achieved the rank of E5. Tony proudly served one year in Vietnam. After returning home he worked in the chemical field for 35 years.

Tony was a very good athlete in all sports. Playing on championship teams. He excelled in baseball, basketball, softball and golf. He was also a lifelong fan of the Washington Redskins, UNC Tar Heels and Atlanta Braves.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sherry as well as his son, Scott (Carla) and grandchildren; Mattie Suther, Sam Suther, Bryce Gould and Brody Hall.

Tony was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Julie Ann Hall and brother, Milford Hall.

He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Tony loved his family so much. He was their protector always making sure they were safe.

Family will receive friends on January 9, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Charlotte, NC 28227. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 pm.
