

Mrs. Trudy Deese Freeman, of Matthews, passed away on May 22, 2014 at her residence. She was born May 10, 1946 in Charlotte, daughter of the late Vernice Locklair and James C. Deese. Mrs. Freeman was retired from Time Warner Cable in Charlotte.
Mrs. Freeman is survived by her two daughters, Tonda F. Wilsman (Bill) and Shelley F. Miller (Marvin); a son, James E. Freeman, Jr. (Karen); six grandchildren, Tyler and Trent Wilsman, Paige Miller, Kayla Carroll (Marty), Jason and Brooklynn Freeman; a great-granddaughter, Ava Carroll; sisters, Johnnie Dale Dennis (Michael) and Gail Kirby (Richard); a brother, Edward Lee (Linda); several nieces and nephews; and her faithful companion, Tom Allen. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Austin J. Freeman.
The family will gather to greet friends at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. A service to celebrate her life will begin at 11 a.m. with Dr. Ken Allen, pastor of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Peachland Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr.’s Alan Thalinger, Greg Weidner, Sasha Thomas, James Jones, and Geoffrey Rose for the loving care offered to their mother.
