

He is the only child of Wilbert Chapman Todd Sr. and Lois Mangum Todd who proceed him in death.
Chip leaves behind his adoring wife Sue Haney Todd, their only child, Sara Grace Todd Davis and son-in-law Joey Davis.
He graduated from Harding High School in Charlotte, N.C. He attended Western Carolina University and Central Piedmont Community College.
He was blessed with many wonderful cousins and their families who he loved very much. He also leaves behind very special friends that quickly became family. These people were given to him over 20 years ago and are truly the brothers and sisters he never had. They are Scott and Susan Carr, Chip and Sherril Galloway, Bill and Terry Gilmore, and David and Debbie Matherly.
Chip enjoyed a career in the tool and equipment industry for 45 years. He was the recipient of many well deserved awards and recognitions for his hard and successful work.
For the last year of his partial retirement, he worked at The Billy Graham Evangelical Association. It was a job that was very dear to his heart.
Chip served on the planning board for the town of Mint Hill for nearly 10 years. He was proud to call Mint Hill “home” and worked hard to make sure it was a place others were proud of too. That same sentiment led him to serve on the HOA in his beloved neighborhood for many years. He loved the relationship he had with all of his neighbors.
He played softball starting at a very young age and played well into his adulthood. You would never find him far from a ball or glove…even in his home office.
He was an avid golfer and loved making memories on the golf course.
Volunteering was a huge part of Chip’s life. He served with many organizations including Charlotte Family Housing, Beds for Kids, Operation Christmas Child, He also served on various church committees and as a deacon.
Chip attended North Carolina Presbyterian Pilgrimage in 1999. It was such a powerful experience that he began serving on the retreat weekends immediately. He worked countless weekends and accepted leadership roles serving as rector on NCPP 70 (2006), he also served on the NCPP conferences at a local and state level.
Chip was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and participated in the Kingdom Seekers Discipleship Group.
The family will receive loved ones at McEwen Funeral Home in Mint Hill on Tuesday, October 8th from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Chip’s celebration of life will be held at Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Mint Hill on October 9th at 1:00 pm.
