
William Milton Brinker, age 99, of Charlotte, NC, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026. Born on March 20, 1926, in Columbus, Ohio. William lived a life marked by dedication, leadership, and love for family and community.
He graduated from Greensburg High School in 1945 and continued his education at Valley City State Teachers College in Valley City, North Dakota, later earning a Master's degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served in WW2 in the Merchant Marines as well as the Army Air Core. William devoted his career to teaching and coaching in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he became a cornerstone of the Seminole High School Baseball program. His passion for sports, especially baseball, was evident throughout his life, and he was an avid supporter of the Tampa Bay Rays.
After relocating to Charlotte, William became an active member of Elevation Church, where he found fellowship and purpose. His family remembers him as funny, determined, and a strong leader who inspired those around him.
William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eileen Albers Brinker. He is survived by his children: Cynthia Brinker Brakeman, Terry Lee Brinker, Gary Allen Brinker, and Barry William Brinker; grandchildren: Chris Brakeman, Amie Brakeman-Campbell, Terry Jr., Erica, Craig, and Benjamin Brinker; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched as a teacher, coach, and family patriarch.
