Windy was born on September 16, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Wesley and Oma Gatlin. After graduating Orange Park High School, he attended the University of Florida and remained a Gator fan throughout his life.
He was very tech-savvy and used this talent in his personal and professional life. He worked on the master console for Duke Energy until he retired. Windy loved to play chess and video games. He enjoyed watching sci-fi films and Star Trek. He was proudly fluent in "Klingon" and was active in his chess club, where he was known as "Guns".
He will be remembered for his intelligence, kindness, and generosity. Windy will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Surviving are his brother, Jay D. Gatlin and wife; nephew, Justin W. Gatlin; and niece, Christina N. Gatlin.
